Canon Elementary Band
Welcome to another great school year! This site will be used to update what songs we are working on in band so that you know what to ask your kid/s to practice. The following are Band Updates sent via email to parents who have given me their email addresses. If you would like to be added to my mailing list, please contact me at Margrave@cmsd12.org. Thanks!
4th Grade Band:
Hello, Band Families!
Believe it or not, our Fall Band Concert is just around the corner! Canon's concert will be on Tuesday, December 16th at 7pm. There will also be a morning assembly concertat 8:45am.
Students will need to arrive for the concert at 6:30pm, and concert dress will be black pants and shoes and white shirts. Many students will even wear nice ties or dresses!
Our band concert repertoire has been finalized. Please encourage your students to practice these pieces at home. Remember, practice logs are due every Monday, and I ask kids to practice at least 60 minutes each week.
Concert Repertoire:
(From the book:)
52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58
Heroes and Glory
Some students will be performing solos during the concert! I will be providing students an opportunity to try out for a spot during class, and I will pick the top few soloists to play during the concert. If your child is interested in playing a solo, he or she needs to play for the class before December 1st for consideration.
FYI, all students will be given a chance to perform a solo if they want to at SOLOPALOOZA, which is an event coming up in February. I will send home more info about solopalooza soon.
Thanks for all of the support you give your kid at home! As always, please let me know if there is anything that I can do for you.
Warm Regards,
Brian Margrave
