General Information
As the Learning Specialist serving identified Gifted and Talented students at Cañon Elementary, I collaborate with classroom teachers to provide a challenging academic program for students.  This collaboration is in the form of enrichment opportunities, classroom differentiation, including projects or independent learning contracts, and pull-out groups for specific content areas.

 Grades
The groups that I pull out of the classroom should expect to be graded the same as in their classroom.  For example, if each assignment is worth 5 points, quizes 10 points, and tests 20 points, then that is how I assign grades in my pull-out group for that particular subject.
I continue the classroom policy of late work and make-up work.  If there is a perceived discretion in my grading or policies and the classroom teachers, I would like students to talk with me about this.

If I am offering a pull-out group for a content area, then I will assign grades, give these grades to the classroom teacher, and the classroom teacher then incorporates the grades with classroom work in the same content area, or uses the grade I assign on the report card.
