                                        Guidance May 12th-16th  
               
                                       Classroom Guidance
In Classroom Guidance this week, Sixth grade will learn more about team building  through group activities, while Fifth and Fourth grade will be discussing cooperation. Third Grade will explore careers and Second grade will review the food pyramid. In First grade we will be focusing on problem solving when frustrated or afraid.
        
                                        
 Friendship Group
Ms. Whitney's Third Grade Friendship groups are conducted Wednesday and Friday from 8:05 to 8:30 am. Student's were given an opportunity to sign up for a Study Skills or Friendship Group. These groups do not indicate a problem, but allow students an opportunity to learn social cues, facial expressions, and other social skills. Groups are not mandatory and students my exit the group at any time.

In 4th through 6th grade, students were given the opportunity to sign up for a Lunch Friendship Group. Friendship Groups are conducted during the lunch hour, eating together as a group.  

                                      
 Study Skills Group
Ms. Whitney's Study Skills Group will be conducted every other Wednesday from 8:05 to 8:30am. Students will practice skills on "How to Study," "Your Learning Style," "Making a Schedule," "Memorizing," "The Desk Fairy," "Reading With A Plan," "Ideograms," and "Improving Your Vocabulary."  

                                        
  Divorce Group
In these groups, students will complete "A Book of My Family," along with practicing communication and social skills through role-playing exercises. The groups will be conducted over the lunch hour on Monday and Thursday afternoons. Students will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings with other students of divorced families.  

                                 
1st Grade Military Group
Military Groups will be conducted during lunch on Wednesday from 11:35-12:00. Students will have they opportunity to discuss as a group any fears or concerns about their parent's deployment. Students will work from an activities workbook provided by the District 12 Fort Carson liaison officer.  

                            
  6TH GRADE EAGLE PATROL
        Current Eagle Patrol positions will begin on April 28th and will extend until May 13th, the day before 6th grade camp. The Eagle Patrol Lunch Pizza Party will take place on Wednesday May 8th from 12:00 to 12:25, pizza and soda will be provided. During the week of May 19th Ms. Enright will collect Eagle Patrol vests.
