About Mike Lococo, Media Specialist
My name is Mike Lococo, Media Specialist.  Beginning my third year at CME is especially exciting because of the many challenges in my new position as the school’s Media Specialist.  My focus will be on advancing the use of technology as a learning and communication tool to both children and CME staff.  As liaison to our District’s technology staff, I will represent student and staff technology needs and insure the schools equipment is in top working order.  I will also be working with and supporting our Library staff to insure readiness of books and reference materials.

My background is ideally suited for this position, having received a B.S. in Information Systems.  While living in New Mexico, I worked as a programmer, systems analyst, and financial data manager.  As the opportunities to teach became available, I realized the many personal rewards of the teaching profession.

With the joy of teaching firmly in mind, I entered a graduate program at The Colorado College where I earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching from.  Going into my fifth year of teaching, I am renewed by the prospect of combining the knowledge of two separate careers into the teaching of technology to our fine CME students.

As a father of three boys, I am actively involved in my sons’ BSA Pack and Troop as a Scoutmaster.  I find that teaching school children and mentoring youth in scouting compliment each other.

I look forward to this school year with the goal of increasing the appropriate use of technology into all subject areas of our fine school.
