Safety and Emergency Procedures
The safety, welfare, and security of our students are of the utmost importance to us. Members from the high school recently attended threat assessment training with Dr. Dewey Cornell and are working on implementing it in our school. We will also be attending Colorado Safe School training in Denver during the month of February. Several staff members from the high school are also participating in our District Crisis Planning Committee, which is working towards unifying the emergency plans from all the schools in the district to create a more cohesive, cooperative plan. The school has also adopted an Incident Command System for use during emergencies. This system is being used by the local police and fire departments, as well as by EMS agencies. Using this will allow a cohesive transition between the
school and these emergency agencies during an incident.
In the event of an emergency at the high school the school will contact parents to give them information and let parents know when they can pick their students up. We ask that parents do not attempt to contact their students or pick them up until the school contacts them informing them that they can pick them up.
Safe to Tell™
SAFE TO TELL™ is an organization designed to help students, teachers & parents anonymously report anything that is scaring or endangering them, their friends or their family.
