KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP: Beginning Tuesday, February 19, 2008 District 12 resident parents of students who will be 5 years old by October 1, 2008 may pick up a kindergarten registration packet at the District 12 Administration Office, 1775 LaClede Street, or call the District 12 office at 475-6100 to request a packet be sent to them in the mail.
LEAD RESOURCE CENTER AT CMHS: The Resource Center, known as Po's Corner, is an extensive library of books, CD's, videos and publications on Learning Disabilities and AD/HD. The library is open to the public and items can be easily checked out during school hours by students or parents. An anonymous donation was made to the LEAD (Learning and Educating About Disabilities) Foundation specifically to provide the newest resources available to the community. If you have questions regarding the inventory, or are looking for a specific book, please contact Annie Campanaro at 578-9445.
YMCA Before/After School Program: The YMCA offers a Before & After school program and an AM/PM Kindergarten Program located at Gold Camp Elementary. We have a variety of plans ranging from part time (a few days a week) to full time (all school days and breaks).
At the moment, the Before Program and AM/PM Kindergarten Program are open for enrollment. The After school program, however, is on a freeze and enrollment will be evaluated at the end of the month. CHILD FIND: Concerned about the development of your infant, toddler, or preschooler? Cheyenne Mountain School District provides child find services for those families concerned with their child's development. The purpose of Child Find is to provide a coordinated process that identifies prior to kindergarten, children birth through five years of age who may have special needs. Child Find provides developmental screening and when appropriate, a comprehensive, multidisciplinary evaluation for children from birth to kindergarten age. For more information, call 327-2823.
