                                                                                                                                                                                        Kindergarten Corner                                                                                                                                                        Dear Kindergarten Families,

Wow! We have been so busy. Look what we have been up to:

Reading/Writing: Our new literacy unit is focusing on “How we Grow and Change” This week we read a book about a panda bear growing up at a zoo!  We focused on letters S and T with one highlight of making trail mix to eat! We studied action words (verbs) and reading the words me, with, and she.

Paw traits we have been focusing on: Cooperation: Doing things that your teacher asks of you and playing fair with your friends. Respect: listening to the teacher while she is talking, Responsibility: turning in your homework and pushing in your chair, Effort: trying your best on all of your class work.

Words we are learning:  she, with, me, have, is, for, he, we, my, like, I, am, little, the, to, a, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple (Reminder: Students will be tested on reading high frequency words in December)

Math: We have begun our unit on shapes all around us!  So far students should know the triangle, circle, oval, diamond, and rectangle.

Important Dates:  November 26-30 Thanksgiving Break

Special Request: Mrs. Huff’s class is in need of paint shirts (adult size small--button up work best)

Sincerely,
Stacey Huff and Wendy Bray
