Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books is a state wide competition for Fifth Graders. This year I am excited to be coaching this team. Following is a list of requirements in order to attend the Battle of the Books meetings. All meetings will take place during school hours.
a. Take notes on each book you read and store them in a folder. If you have already read some of the books, you must re-read or skim through the books to refresh your memory and allow you to jot down notes. b. Read 20 books and score a 70% or above on the AR test by September 19. This will be your acceptance into the program. You may you’re your notes for the AR tests, unless you want to use it for a grade for the 5th grade teachers. There will also be a pizza party to
celebrate the start of a great team. If you have already taken an AR test on a BOB book, that counts. Just tell me and I can look up the score from previous years. c. Read the rest of the 20 books and score a 70% or above on the AR test by March 30.
