First Grade Notes
Welcome to first grade! This year we will be building on your prior knowledge and learning together. The students will be adjusting to new classmates, routines, lessons and a full day of school. In order to help the students adjust, I have planned many engaging and exciting activities that will help your child learn and enjoy the new school year.
As the year begins I understand that some of the parents and students will have some apprehension about first grade. I am aware of these feelings and want everyone to keep in mind that I believe in having each child progress at his/her own pace, learn skills they are developmentally ready for and build a strong foundation. We will also work together as a class to create a caring classroom where it is safe to learn and grow.
