First Grade
Dear First Grade Families,
Welcome to one of the most incredible years your child will have in his/her school career! This year is an exciting time of new beginnings and newly acquired knowledge. The students will be adjusting to new friends, lessons, routines and a full day of school. For this reason, I have planned many captivating, engaging and exciting activities that will help your child learn, while enjoying the commencement of a new school year. I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to make your child's first grade year a fun and exciting one, as well as instilling a love of learning that will last throughout your child's years of schooling.
So much happens in First Grade! Because of this, parents as well as children may have some apprehensions about what will happen. It is extremely important to keep in mind that we all build on small successes. Each child will progress at his/her own rate, acquiring skills as he/she is developmentally ready. Maintaining each child's self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will remain a key priority in our first grade classroom. By working together, I am confident that we will make this year one of your child’s most memorable!

MONTHLY CHARACTER EDUCATION TRAIT
Our Character Education Trait for the month of November is KINDNESS. Please encourage your child to act accordingly by displaying the following characteristics at home and at school: caring, giving, sharing, helpfulness, compassion, generosity and unselfishness.
