Homework

Reading -
*  All students will be asked to read for 30 minutes every day including Saturday and Sunday.
*  Students will also have daily reading group assignments and those will depend on the group and the day.  To see specifics check your child's planner.
*  There may be other whole group reading assignments, but those will depend on the lesson and there may not be homework on a daily basis.

Writing/Language Arts -
*  There will be assignments given to the students for writing and language arts on a regular basis.

Math -
*  Students will be given daily math assignments.  Please check your child's planner daily for specific details.

Science -
*  Our district is committed to hands-on, kit-based instruction.  The students will not have a great deal of homework in science because they will be expected to complete the work we do in class on a daily basis.  Occasionally there will be homework assigned, please see your child's planner for specifics.

Social Studies -
*  The students will occasionally have homework from their social studies reading.  I typically give an assignment at the end of a chapter to review the skills they have learned.

Spelling -
*  On a normal 5 day week, or even on a 4 day week, the students will be given a spelling list.  They will be expected to complete the assignments every night and on Friday will be given a test over the words.
