The character education word for November is kindness. Classroom guidance includes: random acts, good deeds, pay it forward, and the care and share food drive
The next 6th grade leadership workshop: Monday 7:30 (gym) 11/24/08. Leadership lunches are Wed. in Ms. Orr's room. We met with our kindergarten buddies for a pumpkin activity and the 6th graders and their kindergarten buddy were paired up for the Halloween parade! The next buddy day is Tues. 11/25.
Please know that if you have a first or second grader, they can go on a 10 min. around the school hike at first recess. They know where to go if they would like to participate.
A favorite book that I am reading? The Last Lecture by: Randy Pausch--(the public library has it)
Our Red Ribbon Week was a success. Our motto: (picked out by 6th grade leadership) was: "I tune out drugs."
Plan Ahead:
November 3-20 Harvest of Love, Care and Share food drive at Skyway (sponsored by News Channel 13)--we're adding action to compassion
Start thinking about the 3rd Annual Skyway Marathon to begin in Feb. 2009 and end in May 2009. A mile each T/TH morning....
